Lee Pace in Breaking Dawn?

Lee Pace To Be in Breaking Dawn?

(i hope so)

Lee Pace may have only just this year turned thirty-one, but he’s already starred in a pair of short-lived TV series (Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies), enchanted the likes of Amy Adams (in Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day), and even played a transgendered nightclub performer in the Showtime original movie Solider’s Girl. He has the chops to be a leading man or can fade into the background if the film calls for a specific type of character.

Discounting his contributions to When in Rome and Marmaduke, the man is in need of better material. The final installment in the Twilight series,Breaking Dawn, may not have a Shakespearean-esque soliloquy that he can devour, but it will give him more visibility.

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed early speculation that Pace is indeed in negotiations to play Garrett, a nomadic vampire and friend of Edward (Robert Pattinson), who aids the Cullens in their final battle against the Volturi. If only he were turning things back to life with a single touch, and making pies that would make Martha Stewart reconsider insider trading, instead.

On a lighter note, Eclipse has been the best in the series so far. It’s as if the filmmakers decided to refrain from its why-so-serious approach in the first two films and revel in the hilarity of characters walking around without wearing shirts, or Jacob being, in fact, hotter than Edward, because he’s a wolf and Edward’s just an icy vampire, or he could just be an emaciated Abercrombie and Fitch model. With each film they’ve had in place a director that was better than the one previous, but with Bill Condon on board there’s no telling what direction the last Twilight films will take. If anything it will help Pace land a better role once his vampire commits are dead and buried.
